Plumbing fixtures are used mostly to help transfer water either into the specific room desired or back out of the room as waste water.

Most common among these fixtures are:

water closets (also know as toilets)
urinals
lavatories (bathroom sinks)
kitchen sinks
utility sinks
bathtubs
showers
bidets

These fixtures will often times have at least one water inlet, but usually two and one drain to remove water. In some fixtures a device is installed that will obstruct the drain allowing the fixture to retain water in the basin. All fixtures typically have a flood rim where water will begin to overflow if filled too high. Typically an overflow device or outlet is installed to allow for this water to escape safely without flooding the room. Water closets (toilets) and showers will normally not include this feature since their drains cannot be stopped.

The three basic types of pool cleaners
Basically, there are three types of pool cleaners. The pressure side cleaner works through water pressure. It has a replaceable filter bag that traps dirt and debris. The suction side cleaner is the most common type found in pools today. The third type, robotic or electric cleaners, must be plugged into an electrical outlet to work. They have a self-contained pump and filtering system. Dirt is trapped with an internal filter.

Heating up the water for your hot tub
The first time you use your hot tub, it will take three to eight hours to heat up the hot tubs water to about 99 degrees. The length of time depends on the starting temperature of the water, the size of your hot tub, and the power of your water heater. A 220-volt model will heat the water up faster. Once your hot tub has reached the desired temperature, all you have to do is hop in, relax, and enjoy yourself.

Quickly heating your swimming pool
You have three types of pool heating systems to choose from. They are Solar, Electric Heat Pump, and Gas (Natural or Lp/Propane). So which system is best for you? This will be determined by several things: your own personal needs, budget, and physical layout of your pool and house. Gas pool heaters are more expensive, but they're ideal if you only want to heat your pool quickly for a short period, such as for guests. They're also perfect for second or vacation homes. When choosing your pool heater determine how you are going to use the heater. This will help you better decide which type of pool heater to buy.
